Trump Derangement Syndrome is real. Headline from nypost.com: “No fury like… Women furious about Trump’s win start ‘MATGA’ movement — which glorifies poisoning men: ‘They asked for it’.” According to the article by Chris Nesi, the acronym stands for “Make Aqua Tofana Great Again.” In the 17th century Comare Giulia Tofana sold poison to wives who wished to dispatch abusive husbands, resulting in the deaths of more than 600 men. In 1659 she was executed along with her daughter and three employees. Pour your own drinks, guys. I guess the movement will spare female Trump voters. Photo from Google Images:

From NYP: “NYT has yet to issue correction for wrongly claiming Trump ‘falsely’ accused FEMA of avoiding supporters’ storm-ravaged homes.” And this surprises who?

This may be the most amusing headline of the day. From foxnews.com: “Staunch Harris supporter Mark Cuban caught deleting supportive VP posts.”

From FN: “Harris campaign gave Oprah Winfrey $1M, paid other celebs to appear with her in doomed presidential bid.” According to the article by Michael Lee, edited by yours truly: “The campaign also spent up to $20 million on swing-state concerts on the eve of the election, according to a report in the New York Post, a sum that could have been more if a planned performance by Alanis Morissette had not been scrapped. The campaign had these swing-state concerts on Monday: Jon Bon Jovi in Detroit, Christina Aguilera in Vegas, Katy Perry in Pittsburgh and Lady Gaga in Philly, and a 2 Chainz performance three days before the election in Atlanta.” Is this something new? I’d don’t recall having heard of politicians paying celebrities to appear with them.

I don’t think these guys got money from the Dems, although they would have probably voted for Harris were they American. “…In a West End town, a dead end world/The East End boys and West End girls…” (Christopher Lowe/Neil Tennant). Released in ’84, it was awhile before it gained traction, hitting #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in ’86. All these years later I still love hearing it. The production is so smooth, so infectious it’s easy to overlook the grim opening lyrics. I remember Ozzy Osbourne commenting at the firestorm that would have ensued had he written the song. From FN: “Save money by borrowing books from the library versus buying in-store.” For Brooklynites, visit the Anti-Inflation Book Shop, where 98% of the goods are one or two bucks. Avenue Z & E. 13th, 11Am-2PM when the weather allows, which has been every day for weeks.

It was the best kind of rain — overnight. The skies cleared and it was another gorgeous day at the Anti-Inflation Book Shop. My thanks to the woman who bought four cookbooks, and to the young man who purchased Batman 3D art; and to the one who took home The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and four by yours truly: Coincidence, Class of ’67, Killing and Present and Past, the latter two now temporarily sold out. No incoming today — yay!
