2 & 4-Legged Predators

All of the news items below were gleaned from foxnews.com:

Several years ago someone said that in the future the biggest heists would be cyber. Allen Grubman — the most prominent entertainment attorney in the world, whose firm represents the likes of Lady Gaga, Madonna, Mariah Carey, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Priyanka Chopra and Bette Midler — is being shaken down by hackers demanding $42 million for stolen files. The slimes are threatening to publish dope on celebrities and say they even have dirt on the president, who has never done business with Grubman. So far Grubman is standing tall, working with authorities. The criminals are thought to be foreign.

Wildlife officials in Georgia recently issued a warning about Argentine black and white tegus, four-foot-long omnivorous reptiles that have been spotted in at least two counties. A conservation group minced no words on how urgent the need is to eradicate the predator: “… should be shot on sight.”

Mexico’s drug cartels are in a war for the hearts and minds of poor citizens, providing them with food and supplies as they struggle to survive the economic meltdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

And those who prey on taxpayers are proposing another stimulus bill in excess of three trillion. Like Governor Cuomo, who asked for $61 billion, they should start a Go Fund Me page or a telethon to see if those who share their political views — George Soros, Hollywood, the Clintons, Al Gore, Wall Street liberals, Michael Bloomberg — would be willing to pony up.

My thanks to Mike, who donated two books on nutrition and three crossword puzzles snipped from the NY Post. I’ve already done one. A week ago I ordered a collection of L.A. Times puzzles from Ebay — and estimated delivery is the 26th. Past orders have arrived well ahead of schedule, even those made during the pandemic. I’m hoping it will be the same this time… Two of my regular customers asked when I will again be selling books curbside, and were disappointed to hear it won’t be until at least July. When I asked Joan how she was, she said: “Fed up.” Such is life in NYC at present.
