Another Day in the USA

Left wing lone nutcase, not a concerted effort. I hope no one takes a shot at Harris or any other Dem. Aside from the heinous nature of such an act, it would be pointless, as there is a long line of Dems capable of winning at the national level as voting practices now stand. Among Republicans, only DT has a chance. Of course, on cue, the mainstream media is blaming his rhetoric for the assassination attempt.

In a nypost.com article by common sense climate activist Bjorn Lomborg, he debunks two myths: “… the global polar bear population has increased substantially from around 12,000 in the 1960s to around 26,000 in the present day.” And: “…the land mass of the island of Tuvalu is increasing — despite past concerns about it sinking due to climate change.” Oh, yeah — it’s World Ozone Day. The hole has been shrinking. Environmentalists are taking credit for it, citing restrictions implemented, despite the massive emissions spewed by China, India and developing nations.

RIP Tito Jackson, 70, the third eldest of ten children of the famous clan. He played guitar and sang backup in the Jackson Five, earning a spot with the rest of the members in the Rock n roll Hall of Fame. He went solo in 2003, playing the blues. He did two albums, and two of his singles cacked the Top 30 on the Adult R&B chart, Get It Baby topping out at #20 in 2016, and One Way Street hitting #29 the next year. He was a dad of three. Well done, Sir. Thank you. Photo from Google Images:

The madness continues. Headline from foxbusiness.com: “California bill mandating health warning labels on gas stove sales passes in state legislature.” The manufacturers should by all means put them on the products so they can be laughed at. Put smiley faces on them.

Born in NYC in 1926, Vivian Maier’s family moved around a lot, living for a while in her mom’s Alpine hometown in France. Back in the Big Apple, she worked in a sweat shop. She moved to Chicago and became a nanny and caregiver. In her spare time she took photographs — more than 150,000. None saw the light of day until they were discovered in suitcases. Some were posted on the internet in 2008. She passed away at 83 in 2009. Her work attracted critical acclaim. Finding Vivian Maier (2013) was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. There are three other films about her. Six volumes of her pictures have been published, as well as three works of non-fiction about her. There have been many exhibitions of her work. She never married and was childless. Facts from Wiki, photos from GI. First the artist, then a montage of her work:

The Anti-Inflation Book Shop is back in the doldrums. I took home a lot more books than I brought. My thanks to my Constant Benefactress, who insisted on paying for a thin pictorial on the Star Spangled Banner, despite donating a handful of books; and to the gentleman who delivered four works of historical fiction and one of non-fiction.
