Beautiful Day, Troubled Era
Each day it seems the violence occurring across America cannot get worse — yet it sinks to a new low. It seems like a spreading virus.
Although I’m surprised Hunter Biden may be charged while the Dems hold power, I’ll be stunned if anything significant comes of it.
The furor over Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter seems much ado about nothing. Are detractors worried the site may finally allow free speech to both sides of the political aisle?
Every time I’m tempted to praise Kanye West, I pull back. I’m not sure if he’s stable. Maybe he’s only a publicity hound. His “White lives matter” T-shirt seems like something the late Andy Kaufman would have done.
Headline from foxnews.com: “University of Southern Maine students demand professor be replaced for saying only two sexes exist.” What a radical position to hold.
Disappointing results at the floating book shop on this picture-perfect day. My thanks to Alice, who bought I, Michael Bennett by James Patterson & Michael Ledwidge, and to all who stopped to chat. Ira, a retired tailor, waxed nostalgic about his big scores playing his trade, including a $3000 tweed jacket he made he fashioned on just four days for a tourist. The other Ira, a retired city worker, offered another of his quips: “Who invented the potato chip? Two Wise men.” And Marty, NYPD retired, bemoaned the state of the union. Just about everyone else mentioned what a beautiful day it was.
I’ll end with a positive image:
