Believe It or Not
Read it and weep. Headline from nypost.com: “Scammers ripped off NY’s controversial Medicaid homecare program to the tune of $68M: feds.” I wonder how much fraud goes undetected coast to coast.
Headline from foxnews.com: “UPenn donor who cut ties with alma mater redirects millions to Israeli universities instead: ‘Unreformable’.” David Magerman, venture capitalist.
Can this possibly be true? From FN: “Top Republican demands answers as billions in FEMA relief are still going to COVID.” I guess anything is possible when it comes to government spending.
CBS News biased — who knew?
New trend, adding a protein drink to a soft drink. From FN: “Viral protein Diet Coke trend sweeps social media as users are ‘surprised’ by how good the drink is.” I’ve never liked any diet soda, although Diet Dr. Pepper came close. Does the protein drink have sugar?
From FN: “A whopping 342,817 Lego Technic pieces are used to build a sports car.” McLaren P1, fully drivable. It has a steel frame and regular tires, but the rest is plastic. It topped out at 40 MPH. Photo from Google Images:
Nice return for the Anti-Inflation Book Shop on this beautiful day. For a change the outgoing was much more than the incoming. My thanks to the woman who dropped off two marketable hardcovers, and to the folks who combined to buy eight books in Russian; and to the woman who bought Mixed Blessings by Danielle Steel; and to the one who purchased All the Light One Cannot See by Anthony Doerr; and to the gentleman who took home a guidebook on English Grammar.
