Headline from nypost.com: “White bite: UFT peddling seminar on fighting ‘harmful effects of whiteness in our lives’.” Obviously they’ve drunk the Coca Cola.
It looks like its leaders have been bought, headline from newsmax.com: “Honduras Embraces China After Severing Ties With Taiwan.” According to the accompanying article: “Taiwan now only has formal diplomatic relations with 13 countries, mostly poor and developing countries in Central America, the Caribbean and the Pacific.” Will China try to buy their support as well?
I’ve been labeled, headline from foxnews.com: “CNN analyst claims White person posting photo of Black public figure is form of ‘racism’.” I guess my eulogies and photos should be only of whites. How ‘bout Latinos? Is that half-racist?
Here’s another term I’ve just caught with — ableism, defined as “hate or discrimination based on physical disability. Sanism, or mental ableism, is discrimination based on mental health conditions and cognitive disabilities.” Is there anyone who has never been guilty of this, especially during youth?
FN headline: “When satire becomes reality: Nearly 100 Babylon Bee joke stories have come true.” Here are examples from the accompanying article by Kassy Dillon, edited by yours truly: “… one article, To Improve Public Perception, Kamala Harris Taking Likability Lessons From Hillary Clinton ran in 2021. A month later Axios reported that a former Clinton advisor hosted a dinner with prominent Democratic women — including Clinton’s former spokeswoman — to discuss how to defend Vice President Kamala Harris from bad press.” Let’s be fair. This ran in 2019: “Trump: ‘I Have Done More For Christianity Than Jesus.’” In 2021 DT said: “Nobody has done more for Christianity or for evangelicals or for religion itself than I have.” “…the Bee gets 25 million page views a month, has tens of thousands of paid subscribers and over a million YouTube subscribers.”
Not much action at the floating books shop on this gorgeous day. My thanks to the elderly woman who bought two romance novels in Russian, and to the gentleman who purchased Season Two of Chappelle’s Show and Man v. Food on DVD; and to the gentleman who again went for the four-for-a-buck paperback sci-fi deal; and to the lovely woman who donated a bunch of CDs.
