Here are bits and pieces culled from today’s NY Post: 93% of the victims of shark attacks are male… George Brown, a big shot in Britain’s Labour Party in the 60’s & 70’s, once said: “A lot of politicians drink and womanize — I don’t womanize.”… From the Letters to the Editor, this thought from a female: “If a poor woman aborts, she still remains poor.”… New Jersey’s Keogh quintuplets graduated from high school this past week. All will attend York College in Pennsylvania:

From Yahoo Sports, edited by yours truly: Marlins’ catcher Wilkin Castillo returned to the big leagues for the first time in ten years, two days on Saturday, and immediately made an impact, lashing a two-run double in the seventh inning that held as the game winner in Miami’s 5–3 victory against the Phillies. Believe it or not, there was a longer gap — infielder Jim Baumer went eleven years,191 days between appearances, 10/1949 to 4/1961. Castillo can claim a decade long hitting streak. His last at-bat in 2009 was a pinch-single for the Cincinnati Reds. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn right labrum while sliding into second on the play, and that hampered his career. Kudos. Here he is celebrating:

Also in sports. It’s going to be fun to see the name Kaapo Kakko in the media.The young Finn was the number two pick in the NFL draft, by the Rangers. Best of luck, young man:

Zwaan, and The Biteback Dictionary of Humorous Business Quotations by Fred Metcalf.
