Bots & Marks
Two headlines from nypost.com: “Domino’s to start robot pizza deliveries in Houston this week.” “Run out of milk? Robots on call for Singapore home deliveries.” I have no idea what the reaction will be in Asia, but I’ll be very surprised if the USA devices survive vandalism.
From newsmax.com, an interesting legal/political counter measure: Arizona is suing the Biden administration on claims that its immigration policy, which has allowed record numbers of migrants to enter the country, along with its decision to stop construction on the nation’s border wall, is having a “devastating impact” on the state’s environment.” I’ll be surprised if it succeeds, but it’s fun to see a liberal tactic used against leftists.
Promoters of pro-wrestling used to refer to fans who believed the matches were on the up and up as “marks.” It looks like CNN believes the same of many of its viewers. Its liberal bias is apparent to everyone else. Leftists no doubt consider it righteous. Of course, no one at the station would ever admit it. Now one of its directors has inadvertently come clean in an interview with an undercover reporter from Project Veritas. Here’s what he said, culled from an article at the PV website, the questions edited out:
CNN Technical Director Charlie Chester: “Look what we did, we [CNN] got Trump out. I am 100% going to say it, and I 100% believe that if it wasn’t for CNN, I don’t know that Trump would have got voted out…I came to CNN because I wanted to be a part of that.”
Chester: “[Trump’s] hand was shaking or whatever, I think. We brought in so many medical people to tell a story that was all speculation — that he was neurologically damaged, and he was losing it. He’s unfit to — you know, whatever. We were creating a story there that we didn’t know anything about. That’s what — I think that’s propaganda.”
Chester: “We would always show shots of him [Biden] jogging and that [he’s] healthy, you know, and him in aviator shades. Like you paint him as a young geriatric.”
Chester: “I think there’s a COVID fatigue. So, like whenever a new story comes up, they’re [CNN’s] going to latch onto it. They’ve already announced in our office that once the public is — will be open to it — we’re going to start focusing mainly on climate.”
Chester: “It’s going to be our [CNN’s] focus. Like our focus was to get Trump out of office, right? Without saying it, that’s what it was, right? So, our next thing is going to be for climate change awareness.”
Chester: “It [COVID] will taper off to a point that it’s not a problem anymore. Climate change can take years, so they’ll [CNN will] probably be able to milk that quite a bit…Climate change is going to be the next COVID thing for CNN…Fear sells.”
I doubt there will be any consequences other than the guy being fired. I expect it will be said he was speaking only for himself. Or he could say he knew what was what and lied in order to discredit PV.
After two days on the shelf because of rain, I was eager to get out and sell books. The public did not share my zeal. My thanks to the woman who bought a Nora Roberts novel translated into Russian, the only sale of the session.
