Another new term: NEET — “not in employment, education, or training.”

Oy. Headline from nypost.com: “Loot ahoy! Dueling porch pirates fight to steal ‘very expensive’ package seconds after driver drops it off: video.” May both suffer an expensive vehicle breakdown.

According to an article by Andy Green at msn.com, Bob Dylan has surprised fans attending the Outlaw Music Festival by including covers in his set. He performed Willie Dixon’s 1955 blues standard My Babe, Chuck Berry’s 1959 Little Queenie, the Fleetwoods’ 1959 Mr Blue (wah-a-wah-ooh), the 1951 Hank Williams masterpiece Cold, Cold Heart, and Sanford Clark’s 1956 rockabilly hit The Fool. Unsure if I’d ever heard the first, second and fifth, I looked them up.

It looked like it was going to be a disappointing session of the Anti-Inflation Book Shop when late sales came its way. My thanks to the woman who bought American Gods by Neil Gailman, and to the Frenchman, who took home three more CDs; and to the gentleman I hadn’t seen since pre-pandemic, who purchased With Paris in Mind: Talking with Artists of This Generation by William Mountain Cox, Fairy Tale Interrupted: A Memoir of Life, Love, and Loss by RoseMarie Terenzio, and Naked Pictures of Famous People by Jon Stewart; and to the woman who brought me a bottle of Poland Spring; and to the young man who donated four items.
