From foxnews.com, edited by yours truly: The guy in Philly who took at least 100 shots at cops yesterday, wounding six, has been in and out of prison since 2002 on convictions for illegal possession of guns and aggravated assault. In 2013 he was convicted of perjury and sentenced to seven months probation. Records also show dozens of serious charges through the years that were withdrawn. A significant number watching the event were on his side, harassing cops, throwing things at them. Fortunately, the officers’ wounds were minor and all were released from the hospital.

Data obtained by the NY Post show the average NYC Transit employee missed 54 days of work last year, a full seven weeks and five days. That includes 18 vacation days, eight holidays, nine sick days and four training days, all of which are paid — plus six comp days, five unpaid sick days and four days for jury duty, suspensions and military leave. As for workers throughout the rest of the agency, they may clock closer to 12 weeks off the job every year. All that time off means fewer employees available to work — and that forces the MTA to pay obscene overtime costs to make up for the absences.

Sign of the times from a headline at foxnews.com: “Woman seen on video getting Tesla Model 3 chip implanted in arm to start car.”

I doubt social media will let posts of the following stand, so here is a pic of a painting hanging in Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan apartment. It’s creepy not pornographic:

A new book has dropped:

Conditions were ideal for the floating book shop, a cool breeze blowing along Avenue Z. My thanks to Michael, who bought three more paperback bodice rippers, and to the woman who purchased two books in Russian; and to the other who selected The Mistress by Danielle Steel; and to the young’un who approached while I was packing up and chose Why Buddhism Is True: The Science and Philosophy of Meditation and Enlightenment by Robert Wright.
