Headline from nypost.com: “Steamin’ bot!: NYC’s first coffee shop run by a robot barista is coming to Brooklyn.” Greenpoint.
More government bigotry, excerpt from an NYP editorial: “Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are changing how they price mortgages,” notes City Journal’s Nicole Gelinas: “Fees for borrowers with big down payments and good credit scores will go up, and fees for borrowers with smaller down payments and worse credit scores will go down.”
Headline from newsmax.com: “Social Security’s Buying Power Eroded by 36%.”
Excerpts from an NM article by Theodore Bunker: “Bud Light sales fell by more than 20% last month… beer volumes for parent company Anheuser-Busch fell by 12.5%… liberals began to turn on the company after it failed to stand up for her amid the backlash.” Now that’s entertainment. This Bud’s not for you.
Headline from foxnews.com: “Biden family’s corruption make past presidential scandals look like traffic tickets.” I’d bet at least 45% of voters would still cast a ballot for him. They share Quid Pro Joe’s sense of entitlement.
Par for the political course, headline from FN: “Iran secures top spot at UN Human Rights Council after hanging 2 men for blasphemy.” Only two? No prob.
RIP daytime TV mainstay Jaclyn Zeman, 70, cause of death undisclosed. Since I’ve never been a fan of soaps, even those in prime time, I had to think long about including her in the blog. I didn’t want to be insincere, use her simply as filler. Researching her life, there is much that is interesting. Born in Jersey, she graduated from high school at 15. She was a Playboy Bunny. Her first screen role was in Deep Throat Part II (1974), which isn’t porn, although Linda Lovelace and Harry Reems are in it and there is much nudity. The first of her three husbands was legendary NYC DJ Murray the K. She appeared in 49 episodes of One Life to Live, 78 of The Bay, and 889 of General Hospital. She was nominated for five Daytime Emmys. She was a mom of two. Kudos, Madam. Photo from Google Images:
It was all outgoing at the floating book shop on this gorgeous day. My thanks to Gordon, who bought Cradle and All by James Patterson and Stone Cold by David Baldacci; and to the couple who purchased two CDs in Russian; and to the lady and gentleman who each chose a hardcover in that language; and to the woman who selected Dr. Earl Mindell’s What You Should Know About Beautiful Hair, Skin and Nails by Earl Mindell and Virginia Hopkins; and to Steve, who took home the massive Gotham: A History of New York City to 1898 by Edwin G. Burrows & Mike Wallace, and this, photo from GI:
