The culprit of the massive pileup at the Tour De France has been busted. It’s the woman holding the sign in the pic below. It translates to: “Go Grandma and Grandpa.” I’m trying not to laugh, as injuries occurred.

Will anyone be surprised by this nypost.com headline?: “NYC mayoral primary race thrown into chaos as BOE botches vote count.” Rank voting — oops, I mean ranked… Here’s a shocking one: “Americans lost $29.8B to phone scams over past year, tripled from 2019.” Whenever I used to get such a call I’d think: Who do they hope to fool? Obviously, P.T. Barnum was right.

From a NYP editorial, reworded by yours truly: The National Review’s annual conference will include these topics on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien: “Gondor in Transition: “A Brief Introduction to Transgender Realities in The Lord of the Rings” and “Something Mighty Queer: Destabilizing Cishetero Amatonormativity in the Works of Tolkien.” It sounds like satire. Unfortunately, these folks are serious.

Funny how the Democrats are trying to foist the blame for “Defund the Police” onto Republicans. The issue doesn’t poll well, so spin is required. Always count on politicians to go lower. Don’t hold your breath that the mainstream media will fact check this nonsense.

Ever wonder if any of the pols who warn about melting icecaps and rising oceans have waterfront property? Obama, for one, has a house on Martha’s Vineyard.

Hilarious headline from foxnews.com: “Attorneys for disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein praise overturning Bill Cosby’s sex assault conviction.” According to an FN article by Jessica Napoli: Cosby “… was released because he was ‘denied due process and the benefit of an immunity agreement reached between him and prosecutors during civil litigation brought by his victims.’” It took more than two years to realize this? Sounds like baloney.

Snippet from an FN article by Sam Dorman: “California State University East Bay (CSUEB) is reportedly offering $1,200 for faculty to attend a professional development program that seeks to understand how Whiteness can be ‘eradicated.’” Blackface?

Here’s an encouraging headline from FN: “A book-based theme park built to encourage reading is coming to Nashville.”

I put out only 25% of the inventory on this scorching day, and stayed in the shade the entire time except when loading and unloading wares. My thanks to the woman who bought two Nora Roberts translations in Russian, and to the one who overcompensated me for two paperbacks she may already have read: Word of Honor by Nelson DeMille and The Street Lawyer by John Grisham… I just finished the quarterly tally of my own books. I’ve inched closer to the break even point, -$239.
