Cold & Hot Air

Let’s start with a chuckle from the Weird But True column in today’s NY Post, edited by yours truly. Someone stole a hot air balloon in Bloomington, Indiana. It was found 900 miles away at a festival in Ocala, Florida. The owner did not press charges. He was happy just to get the $30,000 contraption back. Here’s a pic:

It must have been so tempting for President Trump to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Fortunately, he toughed-out the witch hunt and it now seems to be paying a huge dividend. Kudos, sir, and also to the handful of journalists who refused to let the real story go. As for prosecution of the cabal responsible for the treachery, I would like to see a deal — let it go if Dems drop the investigations they’ve begun. Politicians being the slimes they are, the chance of that is almost nil, so we’re in for more demoralizing shenanigans into the foreseeable future. I’m not looking forward to it, even if it goes completely the president’s way.

Although he seems a lowlife, lawyer Michael Avenatti deserves the same presumption of innocence as anyone else.

There’s an awesome cartoon by Bek in today’s Post. Unfortunately, I was unable to find it on the web. I took a picture of it. Don’t tell anyone, as it’s under copyright. Sorry about the poor quality:

Rosa Ferrigno knitted a suit from 300 plastic bags. Maybe she’s hit on a solution to the problem of disposing of them. Here’s a pic:

The floating book shop returned to its usual nook today. It was cold but tolerable. My thanks to the gentleman who bought a pictorial on tennis, and to the one who purchased a DVD of Into the White, a WWII movie about British and German pilots stranded in the Norwegian wilderness; and to the young man who donated a large paperback novel; and to the retired Romanian super who donated five books, including a pristine hardcover edition of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
