Amusing headline from nypost.com: “Brawl breaks out at Eagles concert during iconic song ‘Take It Easy’.” It happened in London’s Hyde Park. Not a Peaceful Easy Feeling.

Fortunately, I hate beer. Headline from NYP: “Potty time, excellent! This new beer is made from recycled toilet water.” NEWBrew, made in Singapore.

Headline from foxnews.com: “California homeowner, 93, shoots intruder: ‘Defending his property’.” The creep survived. The old-timer had been robbed several times.

Also from FN: “Washington Post reporter laments the energy crisis and high gas prices ‘aren’t spurring a green revolution’.” I, on the other hand, am now hopeful. I feared a majority would simply shrug and accept it as the new normal. What is it the left says — “resist”?

What are the chances Dems will create a bill making abortion legal? Would they forever surrender what may be their most effective political sledgehammer? They are getting so much mileage out of the Supreme Court’s decision, running ads coast to coast about extremists taking control. As if the act itself is benign. No one would be surprised if several, if not many, Republicans would vote to pass it.

From crab to jellyfish, as in me. A woman who lives up the street approached and asked if I wanted the rest of her daughter’s books. She’d brought a batch a month ago, and now the rest were in the rear of the young woman’s SUV — four large boxes worth. Although the floating book shop is maxed out, I caved. The lady and her husband always say hi. I like them. The young woman is, like so many New Yorkers, moving to Florida. She donated a diverse mix, although half seem vampire related. My thanks, and also to local porter Robert, who delivered two books of poetry in Russian, and to Sam, who donated five DVDs, and to all the buyers. Here’s what sold: Moby Dick by Herman Melville, Master of the Game by Sidney Sheldon, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, two large print mysteries by Patricia McDonald, The Count of Monte Crisco by Alexandre Dumas, Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Lethem, a Latino concert DVD, and a DVD of Mona Lisa Smile (2003). I put the wares away in slow motion, trying to make sure I wouldn’t overdo it in the heat. I woke from my nap. All seems well.
