RIP NFL RB Don Perkins, 84. Born in Iowa, he was all-everything in high school, including president of the student body. At the University of New Mexico he excelled both as a RB and DB, named All-League three times. He was the first UNM player to have his number retired and is a member of the state’s Hall of Fame. He was selected in the ninth round of the 1960 draft by the Baltimore Colts, who would trade him to Dallas. He was Rookie of the Year in ’61, All-Pro three times, and played in six Pro Bowls. He is in the Cowboys Ring of Honor, and is a member of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. His career ended in 1968. He scored 42 TDs. He later did analysis for TV and radio. He is the father of four. Well done, sir. Facts from Wiki, photo from Google Images:
From an article by Dean Balsamini at nypost.com: “More than 1,500 NYPD officers have either resigned or retired so far this year — on pace to be the biggest exodus of officers since the statistics have been available…” AOC and her fellow travelers must be happy.
Headline from foxnews.com: “Church’s first openly transgender California bishop resigns after allegations of racism.” America continues its race to theater of the absurd.
Also from FN: “Shooting at rapper’s party leaves several dead, injured.” Has “Rapper” become the most dangerous profession in the USA?
One more from FN: “North Carolina company offers to pay homeowners to release 100 cockroaches into their homes.” According to the accompanying article by Adam Sabes, the firm wants to test a new extermination method and, if it doesn’t work, promises to do it the old fashion way.
