From an article at nypost.com by Angela Barbuti, edited by yours truly: Daniela Velazquez, 18, was named valedictorian of both her high school, Passaic Preparatory Academy, and Passaic County Community College, whose early college program she entered in 2020. Kudos, kiddo.

Also from NYP: “Unmasked: 1971 druggie diary ‘Go Ask Alice’ was made up by suburban housewife.” I don’t know if the book opened the eyes of some and helped them get clean, but it did inspire the Jefferson Airplane’s haunting single of the same title, fueled by Grace Slick’s chilling vocal, arguably the best drugs song ever. Whenever I hear it I recall a lyric from Neil Young’s Hey, Hey, My, My that seems to fit …Alice perfectly: “Out of the blue and into the black.”

Snippet from an NYP editorial: “… red states as a group have not only won back all their pandemic job losses; they’ve added around 341,000 more — even as blue states still face an ugly deficit of 1.3 million jobs as of May.” Any job creation boasted about by Quid Pro Joe is courtesy of Republicans.

I hope this is the beginning of a worldwide trend, headline from foxnews.com: “Dutch farmers form ‘freedom convoys’ to protest government’s strict environmental rules.”

From an FN article by Maureen Mackey, edited by yours truly: The Ark Encounter, a family amusement park, is located in Williamstown, Kentucky. Its centerpiece is a replica of Noah’s Ark, roughly 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet high. It’s located halfway between Cincinnati and Lexington. It’s been in operation six years.

My thanks to the gentleman who bought four books in Russian, and to the woman who purchased one and Cometh the Hour by Jeffrey Archer; and to the gal who took home Home Work: A Memoir of My Hollywood Years by Julie Andrews; and to Mr. Conspiracy, aka Steve, who gave me a CD of his own music. Best thing that happened on this gorgeous day was the prime parking spot at my usual nook being wide open when I returned to the neighborhood. I’m good ’til closing time Thursday. I just hope it doesn’t lead to an avalanche of book donations.
