The Dems finally have an issue to run on — abortion. If SCOTUS goes through with the repeal of Roe vs. Wade, expect a firestorm from the mainstream media designed to overwhelm all other issues, distract from inflation, crime, the border etc.. Protests have already begun. Will they become violent? Stay tuned. And what is my position on the issue? Having seen pictures of the procedure, I don’t see how it can be legal. So who leaked the court’s draft? That person will be a hero to half the country, a scoundrel to the rest.

Here’s a candidate for mom of the year, headline from foxnews.com: “Georgia woman had her 3 children in car when shooting 17-year-old in face during road rage incident: police.” She hit the passenger. Perhaps hoping to set a good example, she turned herself in.

From an FN article by Cortney Moore, edited by yours truly: WWII vet Lester Wright of Long Branch, New Jersey celebrated his 100th birthday with a 100-meter dash at the Penn Relays. He participated in “Event 590” for “Masters Men’s 100m dash 80 and older” on Saturday. He placed seventh out of nine, time 26.34 seconds. The crowd was on its feet, cheering. Kudos, sir.

It was one of those sessions when the floating book shop resembled a real business. My thanks to all who bought and donated. A woman whose daughter has moved out brought the first installment from the library the kid left behind, all but two vampire themed, and darn if the others weren’t scooped up by the Frenchman, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and The Devil and Miss Prym by Paolo Coelho. He also took home a thick collection of opera librettos. My constant benefactress delivered a handful of titles, two of which sold. Ira purchased Kennedy Babylon by Howie Carr, which focuses on the family’s scandals, and the Latino gentleman parked his bike and selected a Time magazine special edition on The Roosevelts, as well as a bunch of DVDs and cassettes. Ira also chose Trump’s The Art of the Deal. Marcia checked her hand written list and, to my surprise and delight, did not find the two Mary Higgins Clark thrillers on display: I Heard That Song Before and No Place Like Home. Alice jumped on The Pact: Three Young Men Make a Promise and Fulfill a Dream by Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, et al. And special thanks to Sam, who picked up Class of ’67, and the gentleman who opted for Close to the Edge, each by yours truly. I am blessed.
