Defying Logic

This morning, talk radio host Mark Simone suggested that President Trump hire General Michael Flynn as head of the FBI. I would love to see that.

So, are the polls showing Biden with as much as a 14-point lead correct? I have no idea, but I find it hard to believe that many more Americans support the second-most corrupt politician in history, behind Hillary, whose mental faculties have clearly deteriorated. The gap seems to suggest those folks blame Trump for Corona and the rioting, which defies logic, given that protesters are made up almost entirely of leftists and anarchists. I would not be surprised if the president lost the November election. I would be surprised only if the results don’t reflect what seems the 50–50 divide at which America stands. I’ve said it before — the left has been winning converts since FDR. I don’t think that tide can be reversed, only paused periodically. I wish it was not so, but that would be denial. Those of us among the futile opposition must hope that the results won’t be as disastrous as feared, that the rioting and looting will cease once power has been returned to the elites. Unfortunately, that too seems to defy logic.

Here’s an interesting development highlighted by a foxnews.com headline: “Minneapolis neighborhood that vowed not to call police in wake of Floyd death is already being tested by 300-strong homeless encampment.” It’s good to see liberals practice what they preach.

How will pro sports teams survive without revenue from fans? Here’s a Yahoo Sports headline that manifests one way the shortfall will be diminished: “If there’s a season, the NFL’s premium seating will be reserved for advertisements.”

Donations poured into the floating book shop today, most in Russian. My thanks to Wolf and the elderly couple who provided about 40 titles between them, and promised more. Thanks also to Viktor, who bought a large tome on health in that language, and to the female traffic officer who purchased one of the same in English; and to the home attendant who picked up four paperbacks for her 90-year-old charge, whom she dubbed “very smart”; and to the woman who recently had hip replacement surgery, who selected bios of Liz Taylor and Fran Drescher, and Nelson DeMille’s The General’s Daughter.
