Tiziana Scaramuzzo, the designer behind small artisan Italian brand Elexia Beachwear, has created a line of “trikinis” suitable for post-lockdown beach visits. Ha fatto bene, signora.

Fashion designer Vera Wang is almost 71. Holy eggroll, Batman!

Here’s an interesting headline from nypost.com: “California inmates tried to infect themselves with coronavirus for freedom.”… And here’s a sad though unsurprising one: “New York Health Department sent over 1600 damaged coronavirus tests to nursing homes.” Leave it to government… Here’s something positive from an NYP article, edited by yours truly: “The Bel Aire Diner in Astoria, Queens recently started hosting pop-up drive-in movies in their adjacent parking lots. Its first pandemic showing was Grease to some 35 cars worth of attendees, who enjoyed a movie-themed menu — in addition to the diner’s usual fare — with orders delivered to them, and their garbage collected afterward. Some folks were dancing on the tops of their cars while watching the film.” Kudos… Here’s one that’s probably a sign of things to come: “Michigan judge declines to sign order shutting down barber for defying state’s coronavirus lockdown.” The barber is 77 and has been cutting hair in Owosso, population 15,000+, for 60 years… Here’s a hopeful snippet from an FN article: “The most recent data shows that (vehicle) activity during the seven-day period ending May 8 was 60% higher than the lowest point since the COVID-19 crisis began…

And in non-Corona news, here’s a headline from foxnews.com that is not surprising: “Nearly 100 celebrities outspoken against Kavanaugh are silent on Biden, study finds.”… Here’s a troubling one: “The Price is Right special donates almost $100,000 to Planned Parenthood.” WTF…

Let’s end with a smile, from a headline at FN: “Black bear breaks into Tennessee vacation rental, steals pounds of candy, bags of chips.” Cue the music: “Look for the bare necessities/ The simple bare necessities…” (Written by Terry Gilkyson, who passed away at 83 in 1999, for The Jungle Book (1967).
