From FN: “Trump shooting plays into Russia, China plans to divide US ahead of elections.” Correct me if I’m wrong — isn’t America already divided? And it happened without the outside influence even of socialists, who have been among us going back at least to Eugene V. Debs, who died in 1926.

Since I haven’t come up with another story idea, I’ve decided to publish By the Numbers as an ebook. At 23,000 words, it’s at least one story short of a print copy that would be fair market value. If an idea comes to me, I can always add it. That’s one of many great aspects about partnering with Amazon. One can make changes ad infinitum. I’m about halfway through a proofing.

It was one of those rare days when I didn’t look forward to the Anti-Inflation Book Shop, given the heat and humidity, and the dearth of sales the past three weeks. My thanks to the woman who donated six books, and to the one who bought The Empty Glass, a novel about the last days of Marilyn Monroe, by J.I. Baker; and to Amazon, whose royalty payment for two ebooks showed up in my bank account.
