Dollars & Sense
Headline from nypost.com about a rapper: “Cashed out: Bhad Bhabie twerks in a bikini on 20th birthday at $6M mansion.” What a country! Gotta love it.
From NYP: “Annual cost of Ivy League degree surges toward $85K, causing sticker shock.” Anything above five grand sounds ridiculous, a rip-off.
NYP editorial quoting Peter W. Wood: “Persuading children” to “whimper in defeat and despair is exactly the cultural message that is foremost on the educational agenda.”

RIP NFL stalwart Mike Kadish, 72. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he earned a scholarship to Notre Dame, where he was an All-America DT as a senior. He was selected by the Dolphins in the first round of the 1972 NFL draft, the 25th pick overall, and spent that undefeated season on the taxi squad. He was traded to the Bills in ’73 and played his entire career in Buffalo, retiring in ’81. He was known as one of the premier run-stoppers in the game. He had 30.5 sacks. He fought Parkinson’s Disease for many years. He was a father of three. Well done, Sir. (Facts from Wiki)
It was a beautiful though crisp and breezy day, plenty of sunshine to keep me from sitting in the car to warm up. My thanks to the gentleman who bought seven James Patterson audio books and two mini travel books on Italy; and to the woman who purchased From Here to Eternity by James Jones, For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway, and another serious novel whose title maddeningly escapes me; and to the two men who donated books; and to whoever left a bunch of novels at the door of my apartment. I am blessed.
