Down the Hatch

It’s National Bicarbonate Of Soda Day. A lot of people mentioned below may need it to treat indigestion.

NFL: The regular season ended in a shocking manner, as mighty New England lost to lowly Miami at home. The Patriots will have to find their way to the Super Bowl without the benefit of a first round bye, and will require three victories, probably two on the road. It’s been done before, so it’s ridiculous to say they’re dead, but they have been shaky down the stretch… It’s great to see the Steelers, for once, on the outside looking in, although they must be given credit for staying in contention until the last day, given that Ben Roethlisberger was injured in week two and did not return… The Browns and Cowboys were the most disappointing teams. Is their talent over-rated or would they flourish with new head coaches? Freddie Kitchens was axed after a single season in Cleveland, which, from the outside, seems unfair. I don’t see how Jerry Jones can retain Jason Garrett. Dallas has never been quite good enough under his leadership, although always a contender… The Lions were also disappointing. The mid season loss of QB Matthew Stafford did not likely cost them a shot at the post season, but it certainly drastically diminished their chances at victory… Tampa Bay seems talented. It will be interesting to see if management tries to find a QB who makes far less errors than Jameis Winston… The Jaguars have a major personnel problem, having signed Nick Foles to a big free agent contract. His injury in the first week led to the ascension of backup QB Gardner Minshew, a fan favorite… One of this year’s big mysteries is why it took Atlanta so long to get going… The Eagles will play the Seahawks in round one. The former seem on the upswing, the latter down. Sometimes it’s the luck of the draw. Given Seattle’s crazy season, no one will be surprised if the game is decided on the last play… I’m not sure what to think of the Jets’ solid second half. My hunch is they still have a long way to go… The Giants’ debacle proves that it is unwise to hand the coaching reigns to someone who has failed elsewhere. For some bizarre reason certain great assistants flop as the head man… So who will advance to the big game? I think it will be the Ravens and Saints. Let’s hope the officials disappear, as they usually do during the post season. They are horrible.

Let’s see how the mainstream media spin the fact that the Texas church gunman was taken out by an armed citizen. Chances are it won’t even be mentioned.

Here’s something that will no doubt give agita to leftists, from foxnews.com: An annual Gallup poll shows President Trump sharing the title of “most admired man” with former President Barack Obama. Both received 18%.

Why is this 61-year-old woman smiling?
