Electrical Banana

I trolled the web for fun stuff. Here’s a couple of beauties I found at cracked.com, edited by yours truly: I’d bet most people think Donovan’s Mellow Yellow is about getting high smoking a banana peel. He was actually inspired to write the song after seeing a print advertisement for a dildo called “Mellow Yellow.” Love it!… Michael Chinigo, an Albanian-born American reporter, was fluent in multiple languages. He accompanied troops on an amphibious assault of the beaches of Sicily during WWII. He heard a phone ringing in an abandoned bunker and answered. On the other end a panicked Italian general asked for an update on the rumors of an impending Allied invasion. Without missing a beat, Chinigo said the rumors were false. Relieved, the general hung up. Chinigo had bought the allies valuable time to complete the successful invasion. Very cool.

Regarding the proposed two trillion infrastructure bill — Trump or trusted associates should be in charge of all spending in order to keep it from being wasted on nonsense and to keep costs from spiraling. I suppose that’s wishful thinking.

I’m stuffed, having just had dinner at L & B with my three nieces. I opted for sausage and peppers, which I rarely have these days. Yum. I walked there and back, which I hope burned off some of those calories.

It felt more like early March today, and business was slow. My thanks to the woman who bought several pamphlets on health in Russian, and to the book seller from Park Slope, who purchased a new-fangled New Testament — Someone Cares. Special thanks to local porter Robert, who donated an unbelievable cache of CDs and DVDs, many never opened.
