Epiphanies

An epiphany is a sudden, intuitive realization or insight into something. Synonyms include: flash, insight, inspiration, realization, vision. The three wise men had an epiphany about the birth of a new type of king. Here are two other examples:
Archimedes’ Eureka!: Archimedes discovered how to calculate an object’s density while sitting in the bath.
Isaac Newton’s apple: Newton realized that the same force pulls a falling apple and the moon.
From upjoke.com:: “Did you hear about Popeye’s epiphany?
He had a religious experience on the way to mount Olive. (Of course, dirty old man that I am, I interpret mount in the naughty sense.)
Literary epiphany from The Ruba’iyat of Omar Khayyam:
“Be silent, you are beneath unscrupulous stars,
Drink wine, you are in a world of calamities:
Since your beginning and end are only of dust,
Do not imagine you are on the earth, but in it.”

Not an epiphany. Opening line from an uncredited article at newsmax.com: “The Biden White House made a stunning admission that Chinese hackers have the ability to cripple the American power grid and ports, and it is reportedly not just run-of-the-mill intrusions but increasingly sophisticated actors with unparalleled skills.” Are there no American tech brainiacs to counter this?

Quid Pro Joe awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to a convicted felon, Soros, and an election-denier, Hillary. Why not Luigi? The left would dub Joe’s moves an epiphany. I wonder how the independents and never-Trumpers feel about these moves. Do they have any doubt left about how wrong they were in voting for him?

Sounds too good to be true. Headline from foxnews.com: “Who is Pierre Poilievre? Canada’s Conservative leader seeking to become next prime minister after Trudeau exit.” Did Justin have an epiphany?

I guess Cuomo, Hochul and other NY politicians see congestion pricing as an epiphany, not a cash grab.

The guy must have had an epiphany about how beautiful this pic would be. London, photo by Toby Melville/Reuters:

I’m having an epiphany: The cold weather will eventually end and the Anti-Inflation Book Shop will be back in action. Meanwhile…
