Factors
In my part of Brooklyn, Sheepshead Bay, it seems we had far less than the foot of snow that had been predicted. Let the sun shine and the melting begin. Meanwhile, this guy wasn’t deterred by the storm:
At least one pollster is allowing for fraud in the January election in Georgia. According to his calculations, the Republican candidates must overcome a factor of 3.7%.
I’ve resisted falling in among those who believe the presidency has been stolen, as I thought it entirely possible that committed operatives personally visited those who would not bother to go to the polls or were too infirm to do so and had them fill out and sign mail-in ballots. Now I’m hearing that certain battleground states violated their own election laws to the tune of thousands of votes. The only way the truth has a chance of coming out is if at least one of the Georgia senate seats is Republican.
Has totalitarianism come to a once hallowed IVY League college? Headline from newsmax.com: “Cornell Student Government Removes 2 for Not Voting to Defund Police.”
I learned a new term today — Zombie Company. In part, it’s those that aren’t earning enough to cover their interest expenses. There are more than 200, including Boeing, Carnival Corp, Delta Air Lines, Exxon Mobil, and Macy’s. The situation is worse than it was during the financial crisis. Given this and other factors, one wonders why the country isn’t in complete economic collapse.
Of course the floating book shop was sidelined today, and probably will be tomorrow as well. Since the sun shines on my alternate spot most of the day, most of the snow should be gone by Saturday morning. I’ll bring a shovel just in case it was pushed into large piles in an area where there’s an open parking space.
