Falls from Grace

This poor soul tried to jump to his death from the ninth floor of a building in Jersey. He landed through the roof of a BMW and survived, suffering multiple injuries. Hopefully he will see the light. Photo from nypost.com, article by Natalie O’Neill and Reuven Fenton.

Headline from NYP: “Hunter Biden sells five art prints for $75K each as NYC show pushed back.” Hopefully, struggling artists around the world aren’t driven to suicide by the news.

More evidence of America’s deterioration in this sub-headline from NYP: “The US has experienced a higher number of school shootings at the start of this school year compared to any other year the incidents have been tracked.” And in a related story: “Suspected Texas high school gunman released on bail — one day after teacher and students shot.” He’s subject to home confinement. His lawyer claims he was bullied. Fortunately, all his targets, including a teacher, will survive.

Headline from NYP: “Snapchat cracks down on drug dealing on its app after fentanyl overdoses.” Gee, that’s nice of it.

I’ve been waiting for more news on the Arizona recount and finally found some in an article at newsmax.com by Charlie McCarthy. According to Republican house rep Andy Biggs: “The audit found multiple election anomalies, among them more than 17,000 duplicate ballots… He added the county’s election recount utilized 26 batches of ballots out of 10,341 total, each batch containing 200 ballots…” I don’t understand why Sean Hannity and other conservatives are ignoring this.

More politicking from social media, headline from NM: “Google to Ban Ads Appearing Next to Climate Denial Content.” Then again, it may be a good thing, no annoying distractions.

Here are two sad foxnews.com headlines: “Suspected cartel thugs fire shots into US as illegal migrant crisis worsens.” And: “Drug seizures of fentanyl, meth see uptick along southwest border: DEA.” I don’t understand how anyone could think our current border policy is sound. Maybe I’m too dumb to understand the left’s wisdom. Also, I have no evidence of this, but is it possible that flooding the country with fentanyl is a deliberate attempt to kill Americans?

It looked like it would be the first below average session of the floating in a while, then the Latino gentleman rode up on his bike as I was breaking down the display and, as usual, overcompensated me for the media he selected, 14 DVDs and a CD of classical composer Mendelssohn. My thanks, and also to Ira, who purchased Strangers to These Shores by Vincent Parrillo; and to Alice, who jumped on Max by James Patterson; and to young Gareth, who took home a business law textbook. I learned a little more about him today. He spent two years in prison from age 17 to 19 for shenanigans involving crypto fraud. He went to college as soon as he was released and has been making money ever since, largely for having the balls to buy Bitcoin when it went public, which yours truly was too cowardly to take a chance on despite all the money in his retirement accounts.
