Has any NYC driver who has had a cop tap on his/her window ever said, as the radio ad bids: “My lawyer is Seth Katz”? Double dare ya.

More evidence of a failing society. Excerpts from an unaccredited article at newsmax.com: “…4,752 children died from gun-related injuries in 2021.” That’s a record. “Black children accounted for around 67% of firearm homicides while white children made up about 78% of gun-assisted suicides.”

Here’s a personal economic strategy for the rich and famous I gleaned from IMDb about an Oscar-winning actor and a world famous artist, both long deceased. They made most payments by check, knowing many would go uncashed by autograph seekers. Photo from Google Images:

RIP David Jacobs, 84, who created TV series that entertained millions. Born in Baltimore, he had an incredible impact on the small screen. Dallas shot 356 episodes from 1978-’91, its spinoff, Knots Landing, 344 from ‘79-’93. A reboot of Dallas aired 40 episodes from 2012-’14. Jacobs was also responsible for the western Paradise, 56 episodes, and crime drama Bodies of Evidence, 16 episodes, both series starring Lee Horsley. He also was involved in eight episodes of Family. He also wrote for The New York Times Magazine and Esquire, and published one book: Chaplin, the Movies, and Charlie. Married twice, he was a father of three. Awesome, Sir. Photo from GI:

Very little action at the floating bookshop on this gorgeous day. My thanks to the woman who bought a Loggins and Messina vinyl LP, and to the one who purchased a hardcover in Russian. Nell stopped by, worried about someone she expected was up to no good. She waited until he’d passed and traveled more than a block away. She remarked that we didn’t have to worry about such things when we were growing up. I said my friends and I were riding the subway at ten. She recalled her first parentless trip, riding the F train. She and a girlfriend, each ten or eleven, had permission from their moms to go to the shopping area in downtown Brooklyn. A guy seated across the aisle flashed them. Nell laughed, her girlfriend screamed. I couldn’t help laughing. Why is flashing funny?
