Trivia: The most successful music artist to fly solo after fronting a group is, no surprise, Michael Jackson. Who’s second? Answer below. Eric Clapton is #3, Rod Stewart #4, Phil Collins #5, Ozzy Osbourne #6, Lionel Richie #7, Sting #8, Neil Young #9, Paul McCartney #10. I’m surprised Osbourne and Young cracked the top ten and that McCartney isn’t higher. List culled from an article by Emma Madden at msm.com.

Also from the music world, headline from foxnews.com: “Pink Floyd sells recorded music catalog for $400M.” I suppose it will soon be used in ads, which will introduce a whole new generation to it, the way Etta James’ At Last and Dave Brubeck’s Take Five did.

And country stars have stepped up to help hurricane victims, Dolly Parton donating a cool million and North Carolina resident Eric Church donating the royalties from his new song. Kudos.

May it be so. Headline from nypost.com: “US port workers and operators reach deal to end East Coast strike immediately, union says.”

This may be the most amusing headline of the day: “Man accused of stealing emergency truck to make it to court hearing on car theft charges.”

The jobs report is strong. Let’s hope it’s not revised way down the way recent ones were.

Will Harris campaigning with Liz Cheney bring in even one vote?

Headline from foxnews.com: “Man paralyzed in diving mishap has medical miracle a year after AI-powered brain implant.” According to the article by Melissa Rudy: “… Keith was recently able to feel and lift a cup of tea to his mouth, and take a drink, without any help and using his thoughts alone.”

Trivia answer: Kenny Rogers, who left the First Edition. Certified album sales: 47.5 million. #1’s on Billboard Hot 100: 2.

Not much action at the Anti-inflation Book Shop on this gorgeous day. My thanks to the ladies who bought three pieces of 3D art between them, and to the one who purchased a paperback in Russian.
