Friday Fun

Common sense from climate activist Bjorn Lomborg. Headline from nypost.com: “Green activists don’t care how many people will die from zero fossil fuel use.” They haven’t ever cared and won’t in the future. They will accept collateral damage.
It was difficult to choose an excerpt from the column of NYP sports media critic fearless Phil Mushnick, as there were so many choice ones: “While Butker’s pro-family speech last week was rebuked by adherents to Goodell’s ‘End Racism’ end zone public relations con, the Super Bowl halftime show has become the domain of vulgar, sexually explicit, crotch-grabbing, misogynistic, N-wording, gun-worshiping rappers with criminal records.” Once again, kudos, Sir.
This was in my email spam folder this morning: “Summer Butt Plugs. Collect the whole set!”
Headline from foxnews.com: “CNN reporter struck by size of pro-Trump rally in ‘one of the bluest counties in the entire country’.” Estimated at 25,000. Hopefully it’s a good omen for those of us who support DT.
Down Under. Vivid Sydney festival, photo by David Gray/AFP/Getty Images, posted at theguardian.com. Reminds me of under the Coney Island Boardwalk back in the day:
It’s beginning to look a lot like summer. I kept to the shade at today’s session of the Anti-Inflation Book Shop. My thanks to the man who dropped off a hardcover in Russian, and to Wolf, who bought Joe DiMaggio: The Hero’s Life by Richard Ben Cramer; and to the woman who took home Russian translations of Danielle Steel and Nora Roberts; and to the gentleman who showed while I was packing up and purchased CDs by Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn, Anne Murray, Celtic Women and one other. He said two operations restored his eyesight to 20–20. He had barely been able to make out faces. Three cheers for modern science.
