Is this something to worry about or is it business as usual? Headline from foxnews.com: “Already this year, store closures in the U.S. outnumber openings, something not seen in 2023 or 2022.” A lot of them are drug chains, which may not be able to compete with web vendors or overcome mass theft.

Trivia answer: Tony Basil, whose Mickey was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She never had another hit, but she’s done choreography for David Bowie, Tina Turner, Bette Midler and a variety of major movies from That Thing You Do! (1996) to Legally Blonde (2001) to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019). Born Antonia Christina Basilotta in ’43, she had roles in Easy Rider (1969) and Five Easy Pieces (1970). She directed two shorts and ten music videos, including three by the Talking Heads, one by Linda Ronstadt, and three of her own, including her big hit.
