A couple of times a year, Rivera and a supporting cast of three or four characters do Subway Mania, occupying a single car, trailed by three videographers who film an episode of the underground pro wrestling homage. From an NYP article by Brooke Steinberg. I don’t know whether to laugh or weep. We’ve been told dark chocolate is a healthy alternative. Now comes this from Consumer Reports, edited by YT: “Researchers found that all 28 chocolate bars contained cadmium, a natural element found in soil that ends up in cocoa beans; and lead, which contaminates the beans naturally through the environment. The heavy metals have been linked to a variety of health woes such as lung issues, memory problems, cancer and even early death.” Dare I be skeptical and assume other foods must contain the same elements? Sadly, this headline about the New School from foxnews.com is not surprising: “Students at expensive New York university occupy campus, demand A-grades for everyone.”

The floating book shop had only one buyer today, but she was aces, taking home Touch of Fire and MacKensie’s Mounttain, both by Linda Howard; Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin; Max by Howard Fast; and my Close to the Edge and Inside Out.
