Fun Stuff

From a foxnews.com article about the weirdest crimes of the year, here are synopses, my comments in parentheses:
“Man in reindeer slippers attempts to steal woman’s wheelchair.” (After he ran over grandma.)
“Bank robber hands teller a note with his name, address on it.” (New form of dating.)
“Man caught driving stolen SUV on way to bail out brother also arrested for stealing SUV.” (Genes.)
“Man allegedly steals from store, then comes back to ask for a job application.” (Have you ever been arrested?)
“Woman driving a toy truck leads police on slow speed pursuit.” (Eat my dust!)
“Women swipe stroller from store, but leave one of their children behind.” (At least they have their priorities straight.)
Here’s a headline in the same vein from today: “Michigan delivery driver seen in video running over Amazon package 3 times.” (Shows such initiative maybe Bezos will hire him.)

Forbes magazine has published its annual list of youtube’s highest earners. At the top is Japan’s eight-year-old Ryan Kaji, host of Ryan’s World, who opens gifts on camera. He pulled in $26 million. Here’s the whippersnapper:

According to the Detroit Free Press, top UAW officials are accused of misusing upward of $1.5 million over a period of years, including $60,000 on cigar and tobacco-related purchases between 2014 and 2018. This gives whole new meaning to the phrase “Smoke Filled Room.” So far there have been nine convictions. (FN article, edited by yours truly.)

I always enjoy when liberals attack one of their own, even when it’s unjust. Headline at foxnews.com: “MSNBC’s Chuck Todd faces backlash for confusing Toni Morrison with Maya Angelou.” I guess this is one of those unforgivable sins. There is no such thing as an honest mistake in liberaldom.

Great Christmas with family and friends. A month worth’s of sweets in two days.

The temperature was fine and there was no wind, ideal conditions for the floating book shop, but few gave even a glance at the inventory, which is as good as it gets right now. My thanks to Mr. Conspiracy, aka Steve, who bought the massive The Pursuit of Power: Europe 1815–1914 by Richard J. Evans, the only sale of the day.
