Fun Trivia & a Bit More
Headline from nypost.com: “Ford expects to rack up EV losses of up to $5.5B in 2025, sending shares skidding.”
From NYP: “Google axes diversity hiring targets in latest DEI retreat by major firm.” And this from newsmax.com: “West Point Disbands Gender-, Race-Based Clubs.” Yay!
From NM: “N.J. Judge Tosses State’s Climate Suit vs. Oil Companies.” Yay!
I’ve always hated politics, but the speed at which DT is moving and the left’s meltdown is so much damn fun.
Here’s a great bit of trivia. Napoleon wrote a romance novella, Clisson et Eugénie. Clisson, a heroic revolutionary French soldier tired of war, marries Eugénie. They raise several children at an idyllic countryside retreat, but war returns and Clisson feels compelled to serve his country. He is injured in battle and a comrade who is sent to reassure Eugénie seduces her instead, and she stops sending Clisson letters. Heartbroken, Clisson sends off one final letter to his unfaithful wife and her new lover before deliberately engineering his death at the front of an armed charge toward the enemy. (Paraphrased from Wiki) It was published in English in 2008. I was unable to find sales figures. Photo from Amazon:
This is sort of trivia too. Headline from outkick.com: “The Lost Home Of King Harold II Has Been Found And It’s All Thanks To His 1000-Year-Old Toilet.” Actually, it’s a latrine. King Harold II, the last Anglo-Saxon king of England, was killed in the Battle of Hastings, 1066. His house was discovered by archeologists. Photo from Google Images:
No book shop on this rainy day. I began the annual drudgery of a tax return. I’m going with H & R, which was an immense help last year after the sale of the old house. I was unable to find a save button. I hope the work I did will be there when I return.
