RIP Ricoh Browning, 93, who played the Gill Man in the underwater scenes of Universal’s Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), Revenge of the Creature (1955) and The Creature Walks Among Us (1956). A native of Florida, he was involved in TV’s Sea Hunt, The Aquanauts and Flipper, the latter of which he created, wrote scripts for and directed. He also directed 14 episodes of Gentle Ben, and the underwater sequences of 007 epics Thunderball (1965) and its remake Never Say Never Again (1983). Well done, sir. Thanks you.
