Check this guy out. He was captured on video fly-fishing while riding on ice down the Arkansas River in Colorado. The one-minute-plus clip has gone viral at Tik-Tok. This is a still:

As the reprobates in DC debate the latest stimulus, I recall a measure advocated by business columnist John Crudele. In the aftermath of the bank meltdown during the second Bush’s administration, he suggested allowing people to withdraw funds without penalty from retirement accounts. Okay, not everyone has one, but the rest who qualify would be in line for government assistance. Wouldn’t that reduce the total cost? Then again, many slimes want as many people dependent on government as possible. They abhor self reliance.

Interesting headline from nypost.com: “Man turns $100M sports memorabilia collection into new stock market.” Huh? An 82-year-old owns one of the world’s great sports memorabilia collections. His high-security vaults in Florida contain more than a million items. So how does it pertain to the stock market? Here’s an example: “For Muhammad Ali’s ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ championship belt, one of two known to be in circulation, Collectable sold 12,800 shares at $10 a pop… they have begun trading at prices based on investor demand via a secondary market [on the website] — similar to that of Wall Street.” Get it? I think I do. The dude also owns the Sports Immortals Museum in Boca Raton (temporarily closed due to COVID-19). Kudos, sir.

Here are excerpts from the column of NYP sports media critic Phil Mushnick on Tim Tebow: “… never arrested, no drugs or domestic violence charges, no DUIs. He never did anything to bring his sport or himself into disrepute. Yet he was lampooned as an implacable weirdo. But that’s how justice continues. It’s a highly selective, subjective process… Recidivist NFL creeps were treated with more tolerance and sensitivity…” That second statement manifests one of the reasons I’ve stopped watching pro football. Tebow’s crime? Being a devout Christian. Thank you, Mr. Mushnick.

If Ted Cruz is to resign for going on vacation while his state is in a deep freeze, then so should every politician who has behaved similarly. Hey — that’s not a bad idea!

It seems we may have finally turned the corner regarding the worst of winter weather, if indeed tomorrow’s predicted precipitation is rain. It was gorgeous today, perfect for doing business curbside. My thanks to the woman who bought Shopaholic & Baby by Sophie Kinsella and three Reader’s Digest condensed novels collections; and to the gentleman who purchased a YA novel and Nights Of Rain And Stars by Maeve Binchy; and to Mr. Conspiracy, aka Steve, who selected a manual on carpentry; and to the gentleman who donated an ABC’s book.
