Headline from nypost.com: “CBP officers in Texas seize ‘meth veggies’ worth more than $4 million.” Can’t think of a punchline. Breaking Good?

Wow! Headline from newsmax.com: “Berkshire Hathaway Stock Scales $547,900 Record.” It’s another I passed on, its price in the neighborhood of $2000 when I considered it. No risk, no reward, I often say and too often fail to practice.

From NM: “Navratilova: Women’s Tennis ‘Not for Failed Male Athletes’.” Well said, Madam. Kudos.

From NM: “Gas Prices Spike, Creating Headache for Biden.” Biden? What about the rest of us?

This doesn’t sound good, headline from foxnews.com: “Credit card debt hits $1T for the first time ever.”

Michael Ramirez cartoon:

It has been confirmed that Robert De Niro’s grandson and NYPD Blue star Austin Majors, 27, are casualties of fentanyl.

The incoming was far greater than the outgoing today at the floating book shop, especially in terms of weight. My thanks to the lovely elderly library lady volunteers, who donated two massive cook books and several other marketable titles, and to my Constant Benefactress, who insisted on paying for a used copy of my Close to the Edge despite donating three excellent books; and to Wolf, who bought a Russian translation of short stories by Richard Matheson and Israel Through My Lens: Sixty Years As a Photojournalist by David Rubinger; and to The Quiet Man, who purchased The Stolen Sapphire by Sarah M Buckey and Jean Paul Tibbles; and to the mom and daughter who jumped on Overlay, Overlay: How to Bet Horses Like a Pro: Angel Cordero, Jr., Woody Stephens, P.B. Johnson and Richard Migliore Share Their Handicapping Secrets by Bill Heller. They stood in place five minutes looking through it. “Remember: Bet with your head, not over it.” I googled overlay and found this definition: “… a situation in which the odds of a particular wager are higher than they should be for the sports book to turn a profit.” I still don’t get it.
