Good Food, Good Life
RIP actor/director/writer Stuart Margolin, 82, whose career spanned 1961 to the present, a directorial work to air posthumously. Born in Iowa, he grew up in Texas. He was a constant presence on the big and small screen. He appeared in 37 episodes of The Rockford Files and the many TV movies of it that followed its original run. He also did 29 episodes of Love, American Style, and 24 of Nichols, another James Garner series. He did guest shots on a host of popular prime time series. On the big screen he was in Kelly’s Heroes (1970), Death Wish (1974), The Gambler (1974) and Days of Heaven (1978), to name the most notable. There are 123 titles under his name in the category of Actor, 57 of Director, most of it in TV; and seven as Writer. He won two Emmys for his supporting work on The Rockford Files, and was nominated for directing an episode of the The Tracey Ullman Show. Married three times, he was the stepfather of three. Well done, sir. Photo from Google Images:
