Trump was 45–0 in endorsements this week until yesterday when his candidate ran third in a DC district.

Perhaps the most unsurprising headline of the year, from newsmax.com: “Hollywood Couple Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson Split: Reports.” Damn, bet the lucky dog still got to see her naked.

Interesting NM headline: “County in N.C. Equips Schools With AR-15s In Case of Mass Shooting.” They are under lock, of course. How sad that this has become necessary.

It’s rare when I bail on a movie halfway through, but I did last night. I failed to connect with 20th Century Women (2016), starring Annette Benning as a single mom raising a 14-year-old boy. Maybe I’ve maxed out on slice of life fare. Set in California in the late 70’s, it was written and directed by Mike Mills, his third full length feature in a canon that includes several music videos and docs. Elle Fanning, Greta Gerwig and Billy Crudup are fine in their roles, as is Lucas Jade Zumann as the kid. Made on a modest budget of $7 million, it eked out a profit worldwide that has no doubt been enhanced by DVD sales, rentals and streaming. To further show that it’s probably me, 45,000+ users at IMDb have combined to rate 20th… 7.3 on a scale of ten. I’m sure it has been heartily endorsed by tobacco companies. Not much action at the floating book shop on this beautiful though hot day. My thanks to the gentleman who bought three DVDs, and The Awakening of Intelligence by J. Krishnamurti and Gandhi: His Life and Message for the World by Louis Fischer, the only sales of the session.
