As much as I hate that seven Republicans voted to impeach, I’m against censuring them, as one can only speculate about what was in their hearts, although I’m pretty sure of what was in Romney’s. Let the voters they represent decide what to do with them.

For those gloating, making jokes about “global warming” in light of the harsh weather afflicting the south, remember that the zealots resorted to the full proof term “climate change.” Climate changes constantly. They can cite extreme heat or cold to make their point.

I went out with a shovel this morning and cleared the space beside a car that hadn’t been moved since before the snowstorm. It wasn’t much work, as the snow and ice had been softened by the rain. My hope was that the spot beside Waj’s food cart would be vacated, allowing me to work my usual nook after an absence of ten days. The only negative was the prospect of lugging the crates and boxes ten to 20 yards. The situation could not have worked out better. It was the floating book shop’s best session of the year by far. My thanks to the female MTA worker who grossly overcompensated me for The Geography of Thought: How Asians and Westerners Think Differently…and Why by Richard E. Nisbett; The Mindful Attraction Plan: Your Practical Roadmap to Creating the Life, Love and Success You Want by Athol Kay; Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom and Sojourner Truth (Journey to Freedom) by Laura Spinale; and to Alice, who bought The Hope by Herman Wouk; and to the young man who purchased The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation by Harvard Law Review, Columbia Law Review, et al., another law book, The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom and Ronald Reagan: How an Ordinary Man Became an Extraordinary Leader by Dinesh D’Souza; and to Ira, who selected a book on skyscrapers; and to the young man who pulled up on a scooter and picked out the Qu’ran and In the First Circle by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn; and to the old timer who chose a cook book; and to Glove, who selected a hardcover in Russian; and to the woman who did a swap of Russian books; and to Thirsty Dave, lead singer of country swing band Western Caravan, who donated six books, four of them related to music.
