Two headlines from FN: “Trudeau slammed after blaming ‘anxiety over climate change’ for ‘rise in threats’ to politicians.” And: “Dem adviser on MSNBC makes ‘Nazi Germany’ comparison for Republicans.” The left cannot run on its record, so expect more fearmongering. Quid Pro Joe’s unity vow is history. It’s war. Let’s hope the left doesn’t resort to the rioting of the 2020 campaign. Recall that there were hundreds besides the one that has received all the publicity.

WTF? headline from FN: “Berkeley to require students who have not received flu shot to mask up.”

The movie Bad Teacher (2011), starring Cameron Diaz, was universally panned, many infuriated by the violation of the sacred cow profession. Maybe producers should have waited to make this guy the focus of the scenario. Headline from FN: “RJ McLeod caught: Most Wanted fugitive captured in El Salvador pictured teaching English class at local school.” He is accused of killing his girlfriend in San Diego in 2016. The victim’s mom, a former police detective, came out of retirement to help track him down. Kudos.

The phrase “Can’t make this stuff up” is overused. Sorry, but I can’t help it regarding this FN headline: “GOP leader slams CA power operator for discouraging EV charging during heatwave after vote to ban gas cars.”

Sign of the times in this headline from nypost.com: “NYC banks shutting doors overnight to ATM users to keep out homeless: sources.”

The lack of parking at the floating book shop’s usual stomping grounds has necessitated three straight road trips to a shady though less fertile business spot. The worst aspect is the almost complete lack of chit-chat. My thanks to the woman who bought Scarlett: The Sequel to Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With the Wind by Alexandra Ripley, and to the gentleman who purchased five DVDs in Russian.
