In Brief

A Welsh woman baked an unusual cake for her 21-year-old son, who she says is addicted to online shopping:

I didn’t watch the Super Bowl. I’m glad to know one of the gambling lines was for the total number of players to miss the game due to COVID-19 restrictions — 1.5. (From Phil Mushnick’s column at nypost.com) I googled it and it looks like no one sat out for that reason.

In her op-ed piece today at NYP, Karol Markowicz wonders at the lack of feminist outrage over the latest job figures: “… women lost 156,000 jobs while men actually gained 16,000.” Why didn’t they just blame Trump?

I scored the best possible spot in front of the Chase bank at Bay Parkway and 85th, and the abundant sunshine provided enough warmth so that I didn’t have to sit in the car to warm up despite a temperature in the low 30’s, but it was all for naught. Still, it was better than staying home.
