In Short

Interesting numbers from an article by John Aidan Byrne at nypost.com, edited by yours truly: “According to a survey by CreditNinja, telecommuting and stay-at-home orders slashed the everyday work-related expenses and social spending of New Yorkers, resulting in average monthly savings of $475 for full-time workers. New Jerseyans saved $410. Nationally, working Americans have averaged savings of $329 monthly over the past year. Alaskans topped the list at $654 and Louisiana was at the bottom at $149.” People may think twice about returning to the office. Humans adapt. So do animals.

It seems that every week there’s an article about a record breaking fish catch, which has me wondering if steroids are making their way into bodies of water. From an NYP article, edited by yt: “A U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service crew got the shock of their lives when, while on patrol on the Detroit River, they reeled in a nearly 6-foot-10, 240-pound sturgeon, likely over 100 years old. It was tagged and released back into the river.”

My thanks to the woman who bought The Klone and I by Danielle Steel, and to the one who went the spiritual route, selecting Forgiving What You’ll Never Forget by Dr. David Stoop, Jesus Career Counselor: How to Find (and Keep) Your Perfect Work by Laurie Beth Jones, and My Dear Children: Mother Teresa’s Last Message by S.J. Hiroshi Katayangi and Mother Teresa. Very surprised no one dug into the great cache of kids books on display. Maybe tomorrow.
