In the Cards

Excerpt from an article at newsmax.com: “A mint condition Mickey Mantle baseball card sold for $12.6 million Sunday, blasting into the record books as the most ever paid for sports memorabilia.” Does this mean things aren’t as bad as they seem economically in the USA?

Headline from NM: “2 Air France Pilots Suspended After Fighting in Cockpit.” I doubt it’s the first time it ever happened, but geez…

Will Ozzy Osbourne be the first celebrity to make good on a threat to leave the USA? He’s appalled at the violence. A few months ago he complained about taxes. There may be less killing per capita in the UK, but he won’t find tax relief. He’ll be forking over a lot more.

From a foxnews.com article by Thomas Catenacci, largely in my own words: Harrison Ford frequently attends conferences on climate change and laments what is happening to the planet, but it doesn’t stop him from using a private jet. His plane has “made at least eight trips stretching roughly 5284 miles and emitting about 35 metric tons of carbon dioxide in less than two months.” He joins fellow elites Steven Spielberg and Leonardo DiCaprio in the category of “Do as I say, not as I do.”

Another gem from the Staten Island goombah:

Book sales weren’t in the cards today. At least it was pleasant in the shade.
