Yesterday I suggested a new Mount Rushmore for Socialists and said Obama and Biden would be the first two heads. I forgot the man who really got the ball rolling — FDR — duh! If elected and she has a Democrat-controlled or neutral congress, Harris would certainly be the fourth head. Speaking of which, how ‘bout this headline from nypost.com?: “Nancy Pelosi murdered Joe Biden’s political career but now she wants him on Mount Rushmore — what a shameless hypocrite!” Pols count on the ignorance and/or indifference of the public. I don’t mean ignorance as stupidity but simply not knowing. Where candidates stand on policy is not hard to discover, despite the whitewashing of the mainstream media, which will be hard at work scrubbing the records of the most radical ticket in American history — Harris-Walz.

There isn’t much difference between the views of RFK Jr. and the left, so his candidacy is irrelevant, especially since Quid Pro Joe has stepped aside, but this bear story is weird even for a politician.

Excerpts from a nypost.com article by Tracy Swartz regarding a Jersey town: “It’s another feather in the cap of 129,000-strong Hunterdon, which recently placed №1 in New Jersey for life expectancy, with an average of 82.9 years. US life expectancy is 77.5 years.” “The rolling countryside that served as the backdrop for the sensational 1935 Lindbergh baby kidnapping trial ranks 35th overall in US News & World Report’s 2024 Healthiest Communities rankings.” Who knew?

I’m trying to keep up. According to an NYP article by Kidspot (?): “There’s even a trendy new term for turning a blind eye to your partner’s affairs: tolyamory.

This may be the most amusing headline of the day, from NYP: “Majority of trees in NYC could be making air quality worse: Columbia researchers.” According to the article by Alex Mitchell: “…oaks and sweetgums which produce high volumes of a chemical composition called isoprenes” are the culprits.

This foxnews.com headline regarding Arizona corroborates my belief that DT won’t win: “Illegal immigrants on voter rolls spurs watchdog group to sue Maricopa County.”

Fortunately, stocks closed significantly higher today, but all is not well. From FN: “Americans owe a record amount in credit card debt as cost of everyday expenses soar.”

From FN: “ANTISEMITISM EXPOSED: UN forced to fire 9 employees over likely involvement in Hamas massacre.” Why not move the organization to Teheran and let terrorists fund it entirely?

Let’s hope this is a sign that American security forces have awakened. From FN: “Pakistani man with ties to Iran charged in foiled assassination plot potentially targeting Trump, DOJ says.” Kudos.

Among today’s many celebrations, it’s Hiroshima Day. This is what it looks like nearly 70 years after it was devastated by an atomic bomb. Photo from Google Images:

I expected cloud cover and rain by noon, but our area got more of the same — blistering heat and high humidity, tough conditions for doing business curbside. My thanks to local porter Robert, who donated a stack of religious books, and to the woman who bought Coming to America, a kids’ pictorial; and to Steve, poet laureate of Sheepshead Bay, who purchased the audiobook of Trace by Patricia Cornwell.
