Highlights from a nypost.com article by Matthew Sedacca, reworded by yours truly: Eleven-year-old Joe Petraro, of East Rockaway NY, is graduating from high school seven years early, despite suffering Tourette’s Syndrome. In his own words: “My brain moves really fast.” He has written three kids’ books. He recently started a nonprofit, Joe’s Be Kind campaign. He has also raised money to build wells in villages in Nigeria so locals can have access to clean drinking water. In 2021 he was diagnosed with Leukemia and now has a clean bill of health. He plays on youth baseball and basketball travel teams and he has earned a black belt in karate. He has accepted an offer to attend remote classes at LSU. He is beyond remarkable. Live long and prosper, young man. Photo from NYP:

My thanks to the gentleman who bought a Queen CD, and to Lynn, who purchased Desperation by Stephen King; and to the woman who overcompensated me for A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. The latter was one of the first books I read from cover to cover.
