America’s internal battle. Headline from nypost.com: “Influential NY family members project faces of Israeli hostages on NYU building after students caught ripping down posters on campus.” Kudos.

Sad headline at newsmax.com: “Statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee Melted Down.” Cancel culture’s reach extends into the distant past.

GDP grew nearly 5% in the third quarter. Will this offset voter’s negative feelings engendered by inflation?

Scary headline from foxnews.com: “SEE IT: Driver rams into car on highway, four men in masks get out and rob victim.” America’s criminal-friendly environment continues to spawn invention.

Not much action at the floating book shop on this early September-like day. My thanks to The Quiet Man, who bought four CDs I burned long ago; and to the mother and daughter who purchased two books in Russian; and to the gentleman who selected Three Hainish Novels by Ursula K. Le Guin; and to the woman who donated five quality hardcovers; and to the scourge of NYC talk radio hosts, Crazy Joe, who delivered a terrific hardcover, and told me all about his finances, how he may be headed to a second bankruptcy.
