An eight-year-old boy’s youtube video has inspired me to learn parts of The Shadows’ Apache. I’m not passionate enough about guitar to learn more. The opening is tricky, at least for someone of my skill level. During my morning walk I decided it was time to break out the fan. I played music and sang into the breeze, hoping no one outside would hear, although the window was wide open.

As I anticipated when I scored the prime parking spot for the floating book shop on Sunday, this week’s incoming would far surpass the outgoing. The old Hyundai is packed to the gills. It’s stupid for a guy my age to work this hard in the heat, even at the slow pace I force on myself when packing up. My thanks to the buyers and donors. My foreign section now has at least one title in Dutch, German, French, Polish, Italian, Hebrew, Spanish, Russian, and what I assume is Chinese, although may very well be Korean. Sacre Bleu!
