Jewels & Blues

Headline from nypost.com: “NJ’s Lakewood Township removes trees in public square to combat homelessness.” Picture the agonizing of environmental zealots.

Okay, top this headline, from NYP: “I make jewelry out of semen — but the process literally stinks.” According to the accompanying article by Jack Hobbs, the woman dubs it J___y Jewelry. I’m not sure if the omission of what I assume is “izz” is her idea or the work of censors. Photo from Google Images:

Also from GI: “NASA James Webb Space Telescope takes STUNNING image of a ‘Phantom Galaxy’.” 32 million light years away, comprised of a billion stars. Article by Natalie O’Neill. If only we could send our politicians there.

Snippet from an NYP editorial on Vlad’s Ukraine horror show: “… the Pentagon estimates Russia has sustained between 70,000 and 80,000 casualties.” Pity the parents of the dead and maimed… In the same vein, headline from foxnews.com: “Russian oil tycoon dead under mysterious circumstances.”

Another reason I’ve turned away from pro sports, headline from newsmax.com: “Analysis: At Least 20 MLB Teams Support Gender-Affirming Procedures for Minors.” What’s wrong with making them wait until 18 to make the decision?

From an NM article by Nicole Wells, the insanity continues: “A convicted felon in Washington state will receive nearly $37,000 from the state because he has been held in prison instead of a mental health facility while awaiting trial on three felonies, including first-degree murder…”

From FN: “CDC: US Life Expectancy Drops for Second Straight Year Due to COVID, Suicides.” 76.1 overall, 73.2 for men.

Does this sound Kosher? Excerpt from an article by Houston Keene at foxbusiness.com: “Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., dodged an extra 20% loss by selling his Nvidia stock in July before the U.S. placed restrictions on the company in August…”

The floating book shop returned to its usual nook for the first time in a week. I conversed with more people today than I had in the past five days. My thanks to the woman who delivered a handful of awesome children’s books, and to my Constant Benefactress, who donated three marketable titles; and to the woman who caught me as I was packing up, who gave me a great batch of non-fiction; and to Vito who bought the massive Food and Nutrition, and Sleepers by Lorenzo Carcaterra; and to Alice, who purchased The Ghost by Danielle Steel; and to Wolf, who took home 10,000 Years of Art, a pictorial by Press.
