I doubt the mainstream media will cover this. According to washingtonexaminer.com, President Trump’s tweet in Farsi expressing support for Iranians protesting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has earned over 200,000 likes, the most liked Persian tweet in the social media giant’s history. Here’s the translation: “To the brave and suffering Iranian people: I have stood with you since the beginning of my presidency and my government will continue to stand with you. We are following your protests closely. Your courage is inspiring.” Trump supporters who have been against the tweeting, myself included, may have to rethink the issue.

Interesting quote from an article at foxnews.com: “San Francisco is the Bill Clinton of cities,” John Price, CEO of Greffex Inc., said. “It squandered itself with its flaws.”

RIP Rocky “Soul Man” Johnson, 75, WWE Hall of Famer and father to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Thanks for the fun, sir.

As is often said, pro sports is a “What have you done for me lately?” business. Gerard Gallant has been fired by the Vegas Golden Knights less than two years after leading them to the Stanley Cup Final in their first season of existence and winning NHL coach of the year honors. And the team is only three points out of first place in its division! Peter DeBoer, fired last month by the San Jose Sharks, will take the reins.

After only two months on the job, Mets manager Carlos Beltran has been fired for his suspected role in the sign-stealing scandal. I wish someone would poll average baseball fans — outside of NYC and Houston — to see what they think of the issue. I’d bet most don’t care anymore about it than they did about steroid use.

Since the wind was gale-like at my usual nook, I took the show to my alternate site and was blessed with dumb luck. My thanks to the lovely woman who must have assumed I’m destitute and handed me five bucks. I was unable to encourage her to take some books, but fortunately I recalled the oldies CD I’d burned awhile ago. She left smiling. My thanks also to the woman who has bought so many obscure novels by females, who went home with two more whose titles I failed to note; and to the gentleman who pulled up on his scooter and purchased Sex and the Spiritual Path, based on the Edgar Cayce readings, by Herbert B Puryear, and Holy Blood, Holy Grail: The Secret History of Christ & The Shocking Legacy of the Grail by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, et al., and A Hitch in Twilight by yours truly, my first personal sale of 2020.
