This may be the most amusing headline of the day. From nypost.com: “Biden admin scraps menthol ban for fear of alienating black voters critical to prez’s re-election.”

This sounds like a good short story idea. From NYP: “AI priest quickly defrocked after giving users oddball answers, taking confessions like ‘real’ clergyman.” Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. I’ve done hundreds of illegal song downloads and I visit naughty sites a couple of times a week.

From NYP: “‘Hypocritical’ anti-cop NYC council members plead for NYPD protection after receiving ‘scary’ threats.” I’ll be your best friend — not! Anyone surprised?

What election advantage does billionaire George Soros see in funding the campus protests? The pre-2020-election rioting helped dethrone Trump. Wouldn’t the current strife help oust Quid Pro Joe?

Among the many celebrations of April 27th, it’s Independent Bookstore Day:

It’s also National Tell A Story Day. ‘Scuse me while I blow my own horn:

Great news out of Chicago. Headline from foxnews.com: “NFL team told to pay for own ‘damn stadium’ after trying to take billions in taxpayer funds.” Private money should fund these projects. The league makes a mint. I don’t believe in taxing corporations, who fund the medical coverage of millions of employees, all of whom pay taxes, or in corporate welfare. Photo from Google Images:

A pleasant day to do business curbside. My thanks to Tanya, who donated a bunch of books in Russian, and to the guy who bought five of them, all novels by Danielle Steel; and to Dave, who overcompensated me for a book in The Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley and Peter Ferguson, which he hopes his granddaughter will like; and to the woman who took home The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller and My Travels with Mrs. Kennedy by Clint Hill & Lisa McCubbin Hill; and to Andy, who purchased The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw and Class of ’67 by yours truly. He is trying to set up a web site based on WMCA’s Good Guys, back in the day when they played popular music. Good luck, Sir.

I listened to Joe O’Brien Monday-Friday before trudging off to another round of agony at St. Mary’s Mother of Jesus elementary school.
